Mountains to Missions
Combination Adventure/Mission Trips
Love God - Love People
Alaska is an extremely beautiful and diverse part of the world, not only in its landscapes and wildlife, but in its people and cultures. We rejoice in this diversity , but along with this comes the fact that there are people of need.
Alaska's remote "Bush" communities have great need and it is TNX's desire to respond to that call - to reflect the love of Christ through serving those in need. TNX have partnered with organizations, such as Arctic Barnabas Ministries, to put together what we term, "Mountains to Missions" - combination adventure/mission trips. These adventure/mission trips combine the aspects of wilderness ministry and serving people in practical ways from remote villages throughout Alaska to the "concrete jungle" of downtown Anchorage. They are EXTEMELY IMPACTFUL as they go right to the heart and essance of what God calls us to do - allow God to fill us with love and then pour that out to others by serving them.
If our "Mountains to Mission" program interests your group, please let us know. There are a myriad of projects and programs throughout the state of Alaska, on the road system and in the Bush, where your group can serve. TNX will connect you with those needs and ministries and make sure it is a fit for your group.

How does the "Mountains to Missions" program work?
- "On-Site" Trips: TNX has connected with other ministries throughout the state to determine needs in those locations. Working with those ministries, TNX has a suite of "Mountains to Missions" adventures for 2007 that groups can select from. These are where we do a wilderness trip "onsite" or in the region where we will be doing our mission work.
- Groups can also select a wilderness trip from TNX's suite of adventures, then after your adventure, TNX will connect you with an organization/ministry where there is a need. Please contact TNX for more information.

Why adventure/mission trips?
In Matthew 22:34-36, it is recorded that the teachers of the Law were questioning Jesus about "what is the greatest commandment in the Law?" And Jesus answered them, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
LOVE GOD
Adventure/mission trips to remote areas of Alaska are as varied as the land and people itself. Typically, we will have a wilderness adventure ministry component to the trip where we will enjoy God and His creation, learn about Him and His Word, be renewed, strengthened and inspired by Him, build relationships with one another and community with those who we are on the trip with, and simply worship the Lord in the beauty of His creation. This is simply loving and worshipping the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind!

LOVE PEOPLE
The second component of adventure/mission trips is loving people, as God has commanded us. Because God is love (1 John 4:16), if we are in Him and He in us, an expression of our faith as followers of Christ is serving people and their needs. Whatever those needs are in that location, whether it is constructing a room onto the local church, building a boardwalk for the community, cutting wood for families for the winter, whatever it is, we are called to have a heart of a servant.
